Do you really understand carbon weave what you might know well

Recently I read  a tech artile about carbon weave of bicycle wheels/rims.Then I found I never understood it well.Though I ever thought I were familiar with it.Let us see what it said:Unidirectional carbon fabric is a reinforcement where all (or almost all) of the carbon fibers are aligned in the same direction. The only thing holding the fibers together will be occasional strands of either carbon or polyester running across the fibers at 90 degrees. Most of us know unidirectional material is used in applications where all of the forces on a part will be in one direction (such as the body of an archery bow). Alternate layers of unidirectional fibers can be positioned with different orientation to allow any combination of bias for the strength of the part to be achieved. If you want to learn more about this question please go to check it at:http://www.windsailbike.com/technology/carbon-fiber-weave-differencesSee More
